To be quite honest, the writing of this entire book was a struggle. I opened up childhood wounds, and, in some cases, they were things I hadn’t shared in treatment or counseling. One of my favourite pieces of writing advice I ever heard was, ‘write the book you want to read,’ and that’s what I do. It’s one of the freedoms of being an independently published writer.
